Our Lady of Częstochowa

Celebration of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Raleigh

At St. Joseph Catholic Church in Raleigh, we came together to celebrate Our Lady of Częstochowa. It was also a wonderful opportunity to remember the remarkable story of the image displayed in one of the church’s side aisles.

Piotr Nowak shared the story of how members of the Polish-American Club of the Triangle traveled to the Vatican, where they met Pope John Paul II and asked the Holy Father to bless the image of Our Lady of Częstochowa. After returning home, the image was placed at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where it remains today as a special symbol of faith and Polish heritage for our local community.

Following the Holy Mass, everyone gathered for refreshments, conversation, and memories of this very special event.
