Mark Fountain: It is with great sadness that I learn of the death of Prof. Dr. Tadeusz Zdzislaw Gasinski. He was my Polish teacher at UNC in 1965-1967. He was a specialist in Serbo-Croatian and studied in Belgrade, but he could actively work in every Slavic language. In the world-wide Special Olympics in Raleigh some 20 years ago he served many of these languages with distinction.
