Below are few comments that our PAC Members shared impromptu with us soon after they read the news:

Mark Fountain (who was first to alert us about this happy event):
The news has just come out that Olga Tokarczuk has been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature.
This year is unusual for naming two prize winners. No award was made last year because of turmoil within the Nobel Committee in Sweden.

Renata Lader: Her books are fantastic ! read them. I did.

Anna Peck: I share Renata's opinion. I read "Ksiegi Jakubowe" in Polish, and I know that "Bieguni" is available in English - one of my former students without any Polish roots reads it now. He send me an email sharing his joy about the Nobel!!. I love her vivid narrative and erudite style. Its a great literature.

Kris Murawski:
”Drive Your Plow Over the Bones of the Dead”). A great book. The movie „Spoor” (Polish „Pokot”) based on that novel can be viewed on Amazon, with English subtitles. She is also the author of a teleplay „Skarb” which, in Polish only”, can be seen on YouTube.
